Stepping into the Fashion photography field
It is hard to miss the slick fashion photography found
within glossy magazines, billboards, boutique windows. The satisfaction of seeing
your work on 25 feet high feels very good. You need to get started from the
ground up with these tips.
1.
Building your team
A successful shoot is the outcome of collaboration
between the photographer and his/her stylish team. If you don’t have a team, your
model will do her/his own makeup and hair. Finding and making a team will take time.
Students who got admission in fashion-related college need a portfolio the same
as any young photographer.
2.
Equipment checklist
Since the goal of this article is to help you
to start shooting fashion and bring up few notes as per the equipments. Producing
a shoot with three assistants and the best gear available is easy, but not
needed. In a shoot, a foldable table, refreshments, and few chairs are also needed.
In this field, first impression is everything.
3.
Scouting your location
You have noticed dozens of great places to
shoot around the city. It is vital to know the spaces if you plan on outdoor
shoot. Make sure to find a backup location, a short distance away from the
final one.
4.
The shoot
When producing a shoot, it needs the
collaboration of various people, the number of emails sent, and calls between you
can be enormous. When the session starts it is extremely exciting. The main
light used in the first photo is sunlight from behind the models. Try to accommodate
if you can do it without taking too much time. The team has lost light and
needed to drive over to the second location.
5.
Getting exposure
Once the session is completed, backed up
and post processed, be sure to contact everyone that worked on the shoot and
attach a few pictures. It is important to know ahead of time what pictures, or
prints each member of your team expects to receive for their time.
